Selection Of Trade Officers In BS-20, 2017

    Applications are invited on prescribed application form, from the public and private sector candidates fulfilling the following eligibility criteria for selection of 03 Trade Officers posts in BS-20 in Pakistan's Trade Missions abroad.

     

    Qualification/Experience

    A. For Public Sector Candidates

     

    Officers working in BS-20 having relevant academic qualification and experience of working in public sector organizations dealing with Economic Affairs, Planning & development, investment, taxation, revenue, industries, finance, trade etc. in the federal government and provincial governments.

     

    B. For Private Sector Candidates

     

    Minimum qualification required is a Master's degree (16 years of education) or its equivalent from a recognized Pakistani or foreign university in Business Administration, Economics, Commerce, Trade Law, International Law, Economic Development, Banking, Finance, Public Administration and having 15 years of relevant experience for BS-20 (with 5 years at a senior position) in the fields of Export / International Marketing and International Trade, Sales, Finance, Economics, Export/Import and trade related sectors in banking. The officers should be within age limit of 40 – 55 years.

     

    Note:

     

    I. The written test will be conducted by the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) at Islamabad. Interviews of the successful candidates will be conducted by the Ministry of Commerce.

     

    II. Applications should be submitted on the prescribed pro forma available at https://moctot.lums.edu.pk/. All applications should be mailed to Dr. Abid A. Burki, Professor of Economics, Department of Economics, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), 248 Academic Block, Econ Wing, Sector U, DHA, Lahore Cantt.54792, Lahore. Hand written applications will not be entertained.

     

    III. Last date for receipt of applications is 26th April 2017. Applications received late and incomplete applications will not be entertained.

     

    IV. Public sector candidates are required to submit their applications through their divisions/departments. However, an advance copy of the application forms, complete in all respects, should be submitted by the due date.

     

    V. The candidates will submit an undertaking along with the application form that no disciplinary inquiry is underway against them.

     

    VI. Those candidates who have availed any foreign posting with the tenure ending on/after 31st December 2013 will not be eligible to apply for these posts.

     

    VII. Selected candidates will be required to submit an undertaking that on completion of their tenure, they will not seek extension in their tenure or ex-Pakistan Leave on Full/Half/Without Pay.

    Application Submission Guidelines:

     

    1.     Electronically fill the application form. It takes around 30 minutes to complete the form. All the fields marked with (*) are mandatory. Do not refresh page while filling the application form.

     

    2.     Electronically submit the completed application form by pressing submit button. Once submitted, no changes could be made.

     

    3.     Print two copies of the application form, sign and dispatch them together with two copies each of

          i.  CNIC

          ii.  Recent colored photographs (duly attested by a minimum BS-17 Officer)

          iii.  Domicile; and

          iv.  Degree / Certificates

LUMS Written Test for Selection of Trade Officers in BS-20 is contracted by the Ministry of Commerce (MoC), Government of Pakistan to a team of LUMS economics and computer science faculty. LUMS test team is tasked to design, administer and grade the test, and report the result to the Ministry with integrity and in a professional and fair manner.

 

The criteria for eligibility of applicants for the test is determined by the Ministry of Commerce and is published in their advertisement. The scrutiny of the applicants to determine eligibility of applicants will be carried out as defined in the advertisement by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan. LUMS test team has no role in rejecting any application on the basis of eligibility criteria published by the Ministry of Commerce.

 

LUMS or its faculty or staff do not control the number of written tests commissioned in a year, and the manner in which the interview cycle of successful candidates (in the written test) is conducted by the Ministry.

 

In no event shall LUMS or its faculty and staff be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage caused or alleged to be caused by the acts of MoC on which LUMS or its written test team has no direct or indirect control. Consulting and advising to government is a desirable activity through which LUMS faculty shares knowledge and expertise to the outside world to help improve products, services and processes. LUMS team for the written test has no conflict of interest in the test and the test conducted by them reflects well on the faculty, their profession and the University
